Careers Service Summer Bursary Scheme

  • Careers Service Summer Bursary Scheme - bursaries of up to £500 are available to Cambridge PhD students to help fund unpaid or low-paid work experience in sectors where it is hard to get paid experience: media, arts & heritage, and not for profit. You should apply for only one, which is most relevant to your summer work experience. Work experience at certain types of non-charitable organisations are also eligible provided they work for good causes in the "for-more-than-profit" arena, or are companies operating as "social enterprises".

  • Careers Service PhD Bursary Scheme for PhDs - bursaries of up to £500 are available to Cambridge undergraduates (including finalists) to help fund unpaid or low-paid work experience in sectors where it is hard to get paid experience: media, arts & heritage, and not for profit.

Cambridge Biodiversity Internship Scheme

  • Cambridge Biodiversity Internship Scheme - a joint venture between the Careers Service and UNEP-WCMC (United Nations Environment Programme/World Conservation and Monitoring Centre) to create opportunities for undergraduates (including finalists) to experience first-hand work in the area of biodiversity. This offers the chance to gain practical experience and to prepare for future careers;

Cambridge Global Health Internship Scheme

  • Cambridge Global Health Internship Scheme - a joint venture between the Careers Service and Cambridge alumni to create opportunities for undergraduates and finalists to experience first-hand the work of the UN and other international organisations in the area of international health in Geneva. This offers the chance to gain practical experience and to prepare for future professional careers.

Santander Universities SME Internship programme

  • Santander Universities SME Internship programme - an internship programme to help fund work experience in start-ups or SMEs (small- to medium-sized enterprises). All current Cambridge students (undergraduates or postgraduate students) and alumni are eligible to apply. Funding is available for internships between 4 - 10 weeks in length. Interns must source their own internship, either through the Careers Service vacancy listings or independently.
