Gender - why do we ask for this information?

This information is voluntary, and it will not affect in any way your entitlement to use the Careers Service.

We monitor gender as part of our involvement in a number of initiatives such as Athena SWAN, in order to improve equality of access to career support, career opportunities and progression, appointments and promotions.

Without it, we cannot be sure that we are treating all users fairly, and we cannot tailor our advice according to accurate data.
