93% of corporate organisations now use LinkedIn to search for talent.  Some use algorithms to find and then headhunt students. No longer just in media and advertising.  Organisations like Accenture, KPMG, P&G and the banks are using online means to share information, recruitment and networking.

Blogs and Twitter provide platforms for informal networking, advertising and informing. These instant communication platforms vary in the reliability of information and are often unmediated and informal.  Employers use networking sites in addition to their own web pages for alerting, advertising and recruiting purposes.
