Career changers

Please use our online resources to help you think through career strategy ideas or plans for a career change

If you still need a discussion with a Careers Adviser call to make an appointment. During Michaelmas Term we are able to offer appointments only to those who graduated less than two years ago.

Please note that we are not able to offer:

  • Extended career counselling or coaching
  • Advice on mid-career progression in the same field as our expertise lies in supporting current students, new graduates and those entering a new career sector for the first time

Alumni - keep in touch and help us provide a great service

15 months after completing your course you'll be asked to complete the Graduate Outcomes survey, so that we can gather your views please keep your contact information up to date

Your experience can also help current students:

  • Share your interview or job experience feedback
  • Become a GradLink and give advice and guidance about your career path and experiences to current students
  • Speak at a panel talk. Panels across a wide range of careers are key elements of our programme of careers events. Alumni speakers discuss and give insights about their profession. If you would like to do this please get in touch with us.
  • Post, or encourage your organisation to post, internships, vacation work placements and graduate jobs on Vacancies & Opportunities. Post a vacancy on the Careers Service recruiter pages

Outside Cambridge?

If you're now living away from Cambridge, you might find it useful to make use of a Careers Service nearer to home.

  • Recent graduates can usually make use of a Careers Service near to their home for up to 3 years after graduation
  • Scottish graduates can use the Careers Services of Scottish Universities and HE establishments for up to a year after graduation.
  • Careers services generally give priority to their own students and graduates particularly at busy periods in the year and you may be charged for use of facilities.
  • For those that need appointments we are able to talk via telephone/Skype
