Philosophy Tripos and your career

Thinking philosophically requires rigour, precision and creativity; qualities that can then be applied to any other problem. Although a Philosophy degree isnít an essential qualification for any particular career, the analytical and critical skills developed through the study of philosophy prepare our graduates for a variety of professions.

Each year about 40% of graduates in Philosophy go on to pursue further study.

The Careers Service surveys all graduating students to find out what they are doing six months after graduation. The results of this survey, for each degree subject, can be viewed on the Unistats site.
