Join the Careers Service at our Recruiter Day

This in-person event is a great opportunity for employers to learn about new initiatives from the University of Cambridge including our new skills discovery tool. Engage with our student panel and meet and network with the careers service team, university representatives, and your peers.

9:30 - 10:00	Registration
10:00 - 10:30	Welcome: The Cambridge Landscape Graham Philpott will introduce you to the Cambridge landscape and comment on the key issues facing our students and graduates. Graham Philpott, Head of Cambridge Careers Service
10:30 - 11:30	The Skills Discovery Tool at Cambridge An introduction to our new Skills Discovery Tool and its early implementation at Cambridge. We'll explore its role in supporting students' skills development, hear directly from Cambridge college programme managers about its use in their colleges, and discover its impact on career and employability initiatives. We’ll also share insights from employer feedback on key skills and discuss the tool’s future as it progresses through its pilot stage. 11:30 - 12:15	Refreshments Opportunity to network with Careers Service staff, university representatives, and your peers.
12:15 - 13:15	Meet the Careers Service Team In this speed networking session, gain Cambridge-specific destinations, and departmental and sector insights and discuss factors shaping students' career choices, strengths and areas for growth. Learn about our EDI initiatives and sector-specific activities and discover how to get involved.
13:15 - 14:00	Networking Lunch Opportunity to network with Careers Service staff, university representatives, and your peers.
14:00 - 15:15	Student Panel Engage directly with our student panel as they share their career journeys, aspirations, and perspectives on how employers can support their employability and skills development. This interactive discussion will enable students and employers to ask questions, gain insights, learn from each other, and ultimately become more effective in this competitive environment.
15:15 - 15:30	Reflections and close
