Special advice for first year undergraduates

The Careers Service is here for you in your first year, helping you make the most of Cambridge. We can also assist with finding and applying for internships and work experience.

We attend Freshers' Fair and host an Open House for first years in the Lent term. Contrary to popular opinion you don’t need to know what you want to do before using the Careers Service. See our Career Essentials session, How to pick a career. You can attend any of our events and sessions and receive information tailored to your career interests. You can even receive information specifically for you if you "haven’t a clue what you want to do".

Remember to set up your Handshake profile.

In the Michaelmas term we prioritise final year students in terms of getting an appointment with a Careers Consultant. However, if you have a query do message our experienced enquiries team enquiries@careers.cam.ac.uk and they will try their best to help.

Follow our blog and see this post especially for first years.

Special advice for penultimate year undergraduates
