Nearly all Cambridge vet graduates go in to practice, although some become Junior Clinical Training Scholars. In recent years, two have retrained through graduate medicine courses.

- Research: either straight from your degree or after some clinical practice (the Wellcome Trust, at time of writing, provides funding for vets with some experience in practice – currently called 'PhD Training Fellowships for Clinicians')
