Our events help you build knowledge, learn about opportunities  and to connect with organisations.

Events range from large careers fairs to sector panels, group discussions and skills workshops. Some events are scheduled to coincide with the recruitment patterns of different sectors and employers, while others take place throughout the year.

Careers Fairs & Festivals

Whether you are at the start of your career journey researching different careers paths and options or ready to apply for roles, attending careers fairs is a great way to meet recent graduate hires, managers and recruiters in an informal setting.

International Organisations Day (Michaelmas)

Find out what different international organisations do, how they are structures and what they look for in applicants. Attend employer recruitment presentations, enjoy panel discussions featuring representatives from across the sector and speak to employers during morning and afternoon fair sessions. Organised by LSE Careers.

Careers in China (Lent)

Employers in finance, consulting, energy, technology and education take part in this programme which supports students looking to work for international and Chinese organisations based in Mainland China and Hong Kong (SAR). Organised with LSE Careers and Imperial College Careers Service.

Navigating the academic job market (Michaelmas)

A series of events for PhDs and Postdocs to support you to explore next steps in academia.  A keynote discussion on some key shifts in the academic labour market; Careers Service workshops; and panel events with new lecturers will take place throughout November and December (as well as a September workshop on JRF applications).

Summer Term

I'm a Researcher, what next?

A series of events for PhDs and Postdocs to support you to explore what you want from your next career step.

Finalist Focus

A programme of activities to help you prepare for what comes next on the completion of your course. Includes the Graduate Jobs Fairs where you can meet organisations from a range of sectors with graduate-level roles with immediate, autumn or early winter start dates.

Career Essentials

A package of on-demand resources complemented by interactive workshops throughout the year covering topics for those who are just getting started with thinking about their next steps through to making effective applications for jobs and postgraduate study and navigating recruitment processes.

Career Essentials for PhDs and Postdocs

A package of resources and workshops designed to meet the core career needs of early career researchers.

Q&A Panel discussions 

An opportunity to hear from and network with former students and experts in their field. Hear tips on how they first got into the sector, what their work involves and the valuable opportunities on offer at Cambridge to help you explore this career path and develop your CV. Includes the Policy panel, Scientific, Innovation & Technical Consulting event and Neurodiversity panel.

Skills Sessions

Led by employers from a diverse range of sectors, our Skills Session programme helps you develop your skills for the workplace. Develop your understanding of different sectors and roles and apply your academic knowledge, learning and experience in a non-judgmental industry context. The programme includes interactive case study workshops, assessment centre simulations, group discussions and insight sessions with Q&A that focus on your development.  

Employer recruitment and networking events

An opportunity for informal discussion with groups of employers from a specific sector.

Employer Presentations

Ask your questions about recruitment and learn about an organisations culture. 

Employer 1:1 sessions

Informal 1:1 chats to ask questions to ask a recruiter about their organisation, sector or recruitment process, CV and application advice.
